HOMOPHONES

Picture
A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning, and may differ in spelling. The words may be spelled the same, such as rose (flower) and rose (past tense of "rise"), or differently, such as carat, caret, and carrot, or to, two, and too. Homophones that are spelled the same are also both homographs and homonyms. Homophones that are spelled differently are also called heterographs. The term "homophone" may also apply to units longer or shorter than words, such as phrases, letters or groups of letters that are pronounced the same as another phrase, letter or group of letters.

HOW TO WRITE A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE?

We write newspaper articles in a special way. It is important to be able to represent all the important information in limited  word count as well as to give the facts to the target audience consiesly.
Main parts of the article:
- HEADING
It gives information on the subject of the article.
- SUBHEADING
It tells the topic of the next part of the article.
 - PHOTO AND CAPTION
We use photos to make the article more attractive and captions to describe the images.
 - STYLE
a/ short paragraphs
b/ age - We usually write people's age in brackets after their names.
c/ direct speech - We write things that people really said to make the article more exciting.
d/ passive voice - oftem used in newspaper articles.
